Thanks to Art City and Artefiera, the first week of February will be an exciting time for the contemporary art world in Bologna. Here’s what Magazzeno Art Gaze and Bonobolabo have in store for you.
As part of Art City Bologna 2025, Magazzeno Art Gaze will present Stefano Fiorina’s solo exhibition entitled “CHI CAXXO È STEFANO FIORINA?” curated by Alessandra Carini.
Stefano Fiorina (Turin, 1990) is a complete artist with very precise and focused research: starting from street photography, over the years Fiorina has conveyed his vision into relational art, placing the relationship between artist and audience at the center of his work. The works are always part of a workshop or performance, the artist guides the viewer through an interactive journey where anything can happen.
Through meticulous material processing and poetic storytelling, he will transport the viewer to the edge between reality and imagination. All works are made with recycled materials, mainly fashion advertising posters and sample books. The choice of materials is meant to be a critique of the consumerist system that characterizes the world of fashion and communication.
The program for Art City days will be as follows:
Thursday, February 6th: opening event from 7 PM to 10 PM at the gallery, in Via Alfredo Testoni 5/e (Bologna), near Piazza Maggiore, with the bar open during the evening.
Friday, February 7th: Exhibition’s opening from 10 AM to 10 PM with drinks at the gallery from 6 PM.
Saturday, February 8th: Gallery will be open from 10 AM to midnight. During the White Night, the evening will be accompanied by music of Athos.vhs, and the last publication of ‘’Opera Magazine’’ will be presented by ‘’Attiva Cultural Project Association’’ at 9 PM.
Sunday, February 9th: the gallery will be open from 10 AM to 8 PM with a plant-based breakfast until 1 PM and aperitivo from 6 PM.
Stefano Fiorina’s exhibition will last until March 9th, 2025. The timetables are on our website.
For the 2025 edition of ArteFiera Bologna, Magazzeno Art Gaze presents a solo show by Giovanni Ceruti in the Main Section. You can visit the stand from Thursday, February 6th to Sunday, February 9th during fair opening hours. Thursday’s preview will be from 5 PM to 9 PM, by invitation.
Giovanni Ceruti (class 2000) is an emergent artist based in Florence. He is attending the Academy of Fine Art of Florence, curriculum painting. He began his production with hyper-realistic artworks, showing an excellent technique. In the last period he focused on more conceptual research, with the reproduction on big canvas of pages and drawing from his childhood, using the traditional technique of oil on canvas. He took part in the 2024 edition of ArteFiera (Bologna) inside Academy of Florence’s booth, having great success among the collectors. Since the fair has began the collaboration between Ceruti and Magazzeno Art Gaze.
‘’At the core of my research, I investigate the relationship between figuration and language, and between images and words. In my artworks I usually remove the division between images and writing. What words mean slides over what they represent until this overlapping slowly becomes confused. In this series of works called “Self-portraits”, I recover my infant self, characterized by lexical mistakes, nonsense and contradictions, through a slow and precise oil painting technique’’- Text by Giovanni Ceruti.
Following the events of Bonobolabo:
From February 6th to 9th, Bonobolabo will be at Booming Contemporary Art Show in the new Palazzo Isolani venue. Marco Miccoli will participate with a skateboard selection and some works by Stikki Peaches, an artist known for his unique style that blends pop culture, street art, and social commentary.
On Sunday, February 9th from 11 AM to 8 PM, Bonobolabo will also be at Rail Market in Dumbo, with bookshop, merchandising, and a skateboard selection. At 12 PM, Marco Miccoli will give a talk about his brand and his skateboard production.
We look forward to seeing you!
